Artist Beatrice de Lehxy
Beatrice de Lexhy, (1956, NL)born in Amersfoort, Netherlands, she studiedsculpture and free style graphics at theAcademy for the Arts (Hogeschool) and theRietveld Academy in Prevalent in her style of painting is the interplay between lines and colours in the female figure. The figures in her paintings might be described as evanescent or ephemeral as they appear as silhouettes or outlines, and sometimes as body parts independent from a whole figure that must be searched for in an otherwise abstract composition. The fascinating works of art provoke a surprising uplifting mood each time you view them. Acrylic, oil paint, Chinese lacquer, pastel, encaustic oil, in combination with several techniques form the ingredients that create the dynamics on the canvas. Beatrice uses unique material choice where she fuses ancient and contemporary techniques in two and three dimensional artwork.“Beatrice is obviously not one of those artists for whom being the first do something, or following a trend, means anything. Rather she carries on a tradition, finding in it strikingly fresh paths to explore", William Zimmerman; Contributing Art Critic New York Times.
