Artist Fredy Wubben
Fredy E. Wubben (1940, NL) sculptures are usually based on a combination of materials such glass and bronze. She was educated at the Art Academy of The Hague. Her recognition came with Geert Architect Art Prize in Gouda in 1977, after which she regularly exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Wood, metal and glass are brought together in a structure which creates an overall picture. Wubben bends metal, cuts wood and adds glass so the simplest form comprises a complex content which is rich in association possibilities. Many of Fredy Wubben large architectural and public sculptural installations are located throughout the Netherlands. In 2007 she created the winning design implemented for Glass Training of Royal Leerdam Crystal. In recent works Wubben explores the mystery of germination of life, heaven and earth and polarity with mind.
